She was an honored godmother to Megan O'Brien Faust, Mary Bodie, Michael O'Brien, Kate O'Brien Carlston, Ann Brizzolara, Sheila McHale Fischer and the late Greg Lehr. She was loved by her many nieces and nephews in the O'Brien, Bodie, and McHale families. Nothing brought her greater enjoyment than the many cousins she grew up with on the west side of Chicago. She cherished the many friendships she made during her schooling (Resurrection grammar school and Providence High School), her work (Chicago Tribune and Arlington Heights School District 25), and her involvement at Our Lady of the Wayside and more recently Luther Village. She loved spending time with the 4th Sunday Club, Ladies of the Round Table, her District 25 co-workers, her fellow widows, and her many bridge groups. She will be remembered for many things including her love of her family, being born on her father's birthday (Flag Day), sharing a nice glass of champagne, sending cards, cutting coupons, finding a good bargain, wearing bright colors, and her beautiful smile. Special thanks to her caregivers over the past few years including Veronica, Ophelia, Chalisa, Carly, Cassandra, Jean, Pam, and Pam along with the entire staff of Lifestyle Options. Visitation will be Monday, April 6, 2015 from 3-8 PM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights.
