Thomas F. Kirby, 59, of Arlington Heights was born April 10, 1958 in Chicago to Francis and Frances (nee Farrel) Kirby and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends September 15, 2017. He fought a courageous battle against a relentless disease over the last nine months. Tom was the beloved husband of Sallie (nee Eure) Krewer; loving father to Sallie's children Kelly (Jon) Sedey and Fay Krewer (Tyler); dear brother of Michael (Debbie) Kirby, Sue (Patrick) Curtin, Bob Kirby, Mary (Bill) Ledonne, Kathy (Dan) Oswalt, Maureen Alberts and fond uncle of many...

Thomas F. Kirby, 59, of Arlington Heights was born April 10, 1958 in Chicago to Francis and Frances (nee Farrel) Kirby and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends September 15, 2017. He fought a courageous battle against a relentless disease over the last nine months. Tom was the beloved husband of Sallie (nee Eure) Krewer; loving father to Sallie's children Kelly (Jon) Sedey and Fay Krewer (Tyler); dear brother of Michael (Debbie) Kirby, Sue (Patrick) Curtin, Bob Kirby, Mary (Bill) Ledonne, Kathy (Dan) Oswalt, Maureen Alberts and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Tom lived a great life filled with hundreds of friends who loved him dearly. He was a lifelong fan of "The Boss" and enjoyed going to numerous concerts nationwide with Sallie and his brother Mike. He had a passion for children and traveled to Myanmar and India to visit orphanages in need of repair and money and most of all love - which he gave limitlessly. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 3-8 PM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights. Prayers will be said Wednesday, September 20 at 10:15 AM at the funeral home and proceed to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell Street, Arlington Heights for Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation, www.glioblastomafoundation.org.
